Google released Nexus One Smartphone

The internet giant Google has released the much awaited gadget Google's Nexus One smartphone in their Mountain View, California headquarters yesterday on the eve of the annual Consumer Electronics Show. This is Google’s direct response to Apple’s iPhone which has taken the entire world by storm. Google's Nexus One is reportedly no thicker than a pencil and no heavier than a Swiss Army knife. It runs on the latest Google Android 2.1 operating system platform and will be able to showcase even 3D graphics – which is great news for mobile gaming fiends. The Nexus One was designed in a partnership between Google and cellphone maker HTC.

To support the new smartphone, Google also ventured into e-commerce by launching an online store as per the Apple Store. Google’s Nexus One is available at www.google.com/phone. It will cost $529 for an unlocked phone and $179 with a T-Mobile contract. It is expected to be available with Verizon Wireless in the U.S. and Vodafone in Europe in the spring of 2010.
